Hey guys, the final version of Man of the House is finished!
Like I said before, this doesn’t mean there won’t be any future updates, but for now I will start focusing on the development of my new game.

Where exactly are you seeing this? There is one bug that Faerin is aware of (involving an animated scene) that will be fixed in the next update.

Tried Discord but for some reason I can’t open the app after DL.
When I DL 0.8.9 Extra – Update and install, if I click on the exe it says cannot proceed because the UnityPlayer.dll was not found.
If I then move those files into the older version that works it asks to overwrite 145 files with the same name, I say ok. That’s when the game runs, sound, main menu, in-game direction arrows but no picture.
It sounds as though you might be missing files during the extraction process or the RAR you downloaded could be corrupt.
Do you use 7-Zip? If not, I’d recommend using that instead of WinRAR.
Once 7-Zip is installed, follow these steps:
1) Right click on “Man on the house v0.8.9 (extra).rar”
2) Select “7-Zip” from the sub-menu.
3) Select “Open archive”.
4) Highlight the “Man of the house v0.8.9 (extra)” folder.
5) Click the blue “Extract” button.
6) In the “Copy To:” box, type: C:\
7) Click “OK”.
Your files will be extracted to C:\Man of the house v0.8.9 (extra)
Then you can transfer your saves and mapping.xml from the earlier version into the new version.

I must be completely retarded. I have 7Zip installed but there is no 7Zip option in the sub menu
All sorted, re-installed 7-Zip. Works good now.

You’re more than likely missing an update for DirectX.
Fix
Windows 7:
1) Open up Windows Update in Control Panel.
2) Click “Change settings”.
3) Make sure “Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates” and “Give me updates for Microsoft products and check for new optional Microsoft software when I update Windows” are selected.
4) Check for updates for Windows and install all important and optional updates (except language packs).
5) Restart your computer and try to play MotH.
Windows 10:
1) Go into Windows Update.
2) Click “Advanced Options”.
3) Select “Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows”.
4) Check for and install all available updates.
5) Restart your computer.
6) Try to play MotH.

why is the coffee shop not showing on my map? cant get to meet Emma

Apparently there’s still a bug involving Emma and asking her for a nuru massage at the health club even after you bought the nuru gel.
Go into the Flags Console, select Emma and scroll down to “nuru_level”. Most likely it will say “1”. Change it to “2” then save your game. Go back to the health club the next available weekday and the option to ask about a nuru massage will be there.
I also discovered a bug in the intro when you first meet Ashley. It will show:
“Congratulations!
You have reached the dating level with Ashley.”
You shouldn’t be seeing that message until her stats are at 100 (love), 100 (arousal). I have already passed this onto Faerin. So it should be fixed in the next update.
There is a bug in Pam/Angel’s content in both 0.9.4 and 0.9.4b involving the two selfies that she sends you while you’re in the bar. While some of you may encounter it (I didn’t), others might not..
What happens is, when you click on the thumbnails for images 45 and 46 in Pam’s image gallery (or the selfies she sends you), they may or may not enlarge so you can see the clues to the whereabouts of Angel. If that happens, you won’t be able to progress (I’ve heard reports of not even being able to leave the bar).
Here is a workaround for that bug.
Go into the Flags console, select Pam/Angel and change the following flags:
clue_forklifts = 1
clue_sign = 1
clue_water = 1
find_clues = 2
Save your game and then you should be able to continue.
If you are in the bar when the bug occurs, open your save in Notepad or any text editor you prefer and search for the above mentioned flags. Save the file and reload your save in MotH (you may not have access to the phone when this happens).
This will be fixed in the next update.
After further testing it’s been confirmed that changing these flags will not do you any good. You still need to be at the location where Pam/Angel is held and changing those flags will not allow you to do that.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait until the next update.
Where do you put the mapping file at?

Go to the living room at 19:00 and watch a horror movie with her. Then send MC to bed around midnight.
Two bugs (one game breaking) that people should be aware of.
The first bug involves starting a new game (if you’re new to MotH). Several people have reported that during the introduction, they can’t send MC to bed. For right now, skip the intro until the bug is fixed in the next update (v0.9.7).
The second bug involves the game loading a lot slower than usual. This is due to a buggy patch Microsoft released for Windows 10 users. More specifically, Windows 10 version 1903 Build 18362. Temporarily disable Windows Firewall, load MotH then re-enable your firewall.
Lastly, and not really a bug per se, but if you use dual video cards and you can’t see the animated scenes, disable one of them in Control Panel >> Hardware Manager >> Display Adapters.
Determine which video card plays the animated scenes smoothly by disabling them one at a time and playing one of the animations.

There could be any number of things causing this:
1) Corrupt file during download. Try downloading the file again.
2) Files missing during extraction. Use 7-Zip to extract instead of WinZip or WinRAR.
3) Files extracted to a location that does not have read/write access. Extract the files to your primary partition (C:).
If all of the above fails or you’ve tried those methods already, navigate to C:\Users\user_account\AppData\LocalLow and delete the folder named “Faerin”, then reload MotH. You will need to unhide all hidden files/folders in order to access the AppData folder.
