You probably need to get the RTP pack from the RPGMaker website. It’s free, and it’s basically all the dependency files. RPGMaker made this rather odd decision to give people the choice to get rid of those when they finalize a game to reduce the over-all size of the game. So sometimes you’ll get RPGMaker games that have large file sizes, around 200-300 Mb+, and sometimes you get like 50 Mb games. This I’m assuming is the later
So I was quite surprised that when I tried to open this I got the exact same error. Which was crazy because I own RPG Maker VX Ace, the latest and greatest from RPG Maker, and of course I have the RTP for it, and I’d never had a problem before. And, as it turns out, you need to have the RTP pack for RPG Maker XP, specifically. Which, like I said in my earlier post, is available on the RPG Maker website for free. It’s a 22 Mb installer, takes like just a few minutes to download and install and you’re all set. Make sure it’s the one for RPG Maker XP, that’s the one you need
